ARE YOU AN ARTIST OR MAKER?

WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN OUR COMMUNITY?

We are always on the lookout for new and original products made by local people to add to our range.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Made in Bradford on Avon (MIB) is a Community Interest Company run on behalf of its 40 or so members. Members’ products are displayed in the shop on a sale-or-return basis. No stock is held by MIB and members monitor their own stock levels and set their own prices. All profits are reinvested in the business.

WHAT DOES IT COST?

The Membership Fee is £120 per year payable/renewable in full in November but pro-rata thereafter. MIB also takes 30% commission on all sales based on the member’s selling price. All members also are obliged to volunteer to run the shop and must commit to a minimum of two four-hour shifts per month.

HOW LOCAL DO I HAVE TO BE?

As the name suggests, you need to be reasonably local to Bradford on Avon and the surrounding area but we do have members who are based in Bath, Trowbridge, Chippenham and Frome and have some kind of close link with our town. The requirement for regular volunteering in the shop and keeping your stock up to date means that you do need to be able to get to BoA regularly.

HOW DO I START?

New products and ranges are overseen by the Display and Submissions Group. In the first instance, it is best to email some photos of your work and a brief description to:

madeinbradfordonavon@gmail.com

The Group are looking for originality and skill and will be particularly attracted to something we don’t already stock. If your work looks to be suitable, you will be invited to come along to one of our Submissions Sessions which take place every Monday morning in our gallery. It’s very informal and if your work is accepted for display, you will be signed up and advised as to how to label and price your product and it should be on sale within about a fortnight later.

Looking forward to meeting you!
